LMS Updates Spring/Summer 2024

The College Centre is pleased to announce that we are migrating our Board Excellence and Leadership Excellence Certificate programs to a new Learning Management System (LMS) for the Fall 2024.

This new platform will allow many updated features and benefits for all participants.

  1. What is the benefit of this LMS?
    • Each participant will have their own portal/dashboard, with their courses/sessions listed and ready for enrolment. It will be easy for you to enroll and track your progress in real time.
    • All webinars can be viewed right in the LMS platform.
  2. What if I’m already enrolled in a certificate program? Do I need to re-enroll?
    • All current participants will be uploaded to the LMS. Once the platform is ready, you will receive an email inviting you to log in, with instructions.
  3. I’m not currently enrolled in a certificate program. How can I enrol and gain access to the LMS platform and the certificate programs?
    • All Participants interested in earning one of the program certificates must be enrolled and registered on the new Learning Management System.
    • Enrolment for new participants will open late summer (August 2024) and remain open. You will be provided with an “enrolment key” (a URL specific to your college and program):
      • Each college HR department will provide their Leadership Excellence participants with an enrolment key. Contact your HR department for more information in August.
      • Each Board office will provide their Board Excellence participants with an enrolment key. Contact your Board office for more information.
  4. How do I track my progress?
    • Each participant will have a dashboard with access to their transcript, which will show completion and progress. Once a certificate is earned, the certificate will be immediately available for download (Good Governance, Advanced Good Governance or Leadership Excellence).
  5. Are there any changes to the programs?
    • The programs are largely the same in terms of courses and requirements, with just a couple of modifications.
    • All webinars will be prerecorded and available on demand.
    • One new requirement will include the completion of a brief Knowledge Check following each webinar to confirm basic knowledge of the content. You will have unlimited opportunities to complete this knowledge check (5 questions).
    • We encourage all users to complete their Certificates within one year.
  6. Will there be orientation to this new LMS platform?
    • Yes, we will provide a guide to get you started, with ongoing information and supports here on this webpage.

Tentative timelines:

April-June: developing and implementing the new LMS.
•    June-July: testing and orientation with current participants.
•    Mid-late August: opening enrolment and going live.
